Four is better than one--build strong support bonds during deployments.
For the Families of Deployed Soldiers
While your Soldier is away serving our nation, we are reminded of the Spouse Appreciation Day slogan: "We Also Serve." Your Fort Polk Family & Morale, Welfare & Recreation is committed to recognizing your contribution by offering a series of great specials for you and your family.
We invite you to pick up your very own MWR PassBook; a ticket to discounts, freebies, classes, trips and special events for you and your family to enjoy. Maybe you want to take up a new sport, like golf or bowling. Take an out-of-town shopping trip or soak up some of the regional color or cuisine. Whatever you want to do with your leisure time, there's an MWR activity that will fill the bill. You can pick up your PassBook at the Family Readiness Center, Bldg 924 at Mississippi Avenue and Bellrichard.
We invite parents to use the Child Development Center (CDC) or the School Age Services (SAS) Program for up to 16 hours monthly. It's called "Parent Time," and is offered as an Hourly Care option. To receive your child care, you must be registered with Child and Youth Services, as part of the Army Family Covenant, registration is now free for all families. One-stop registration is offered at Bldg. 400, the CYS Center, on the corner of Mississippi Avenue and Radio Road. Phone 531-1955.
It's easy! When you want a little time off for Parent Time, reserve your space at CDC by calling 531-1954 or at SAS by calling 531-7574. With your MWR PassBook and valid ID, pick up your child care voucher at the Family Readiness Center. At your reserved time, leave your child(ren) in our care using the special voucher as payment--that's all there is to it!
Be sure to sign for your MWR PassBook today! Stop by the Family Readiness Center, Bldg 924, and present a valid ID and a copy of your spouse's orders to receive this valuable benefit.
Thanks!
